One month ago...
“You don’t want to go that way.” Logan said calmly as he closed the drainage doors as massive amounts of water rushed down the flood pipe. Water sprayed everywhere as the doors closed.
“Come on! There’s another way out, follow me!” He said as everyone followed him. The group consisted of Storm, Jean, Professor Xavier, some students of the school and a new recruit Nightcrawler. Or formally known as Kurt.
Everyone followed Logan outside to the snow covered lake side of Alkili Lake. As they climbed up the side of a large hill one of the students slipped and fell. Seeing this Logan ran after him and picked him up. He then saw a man named William Stryker.
“You’ll all see...I will cure all mutants!” Stryker said as his chained up body struggled to move.
“You won’t be able to do that when you dead Stryker.” Logan said as he turned around and started walking towards the others.
“Come on Logan. Get me down from here and you can work with me. Would you rather work with me or take you chances with him.” Stryker looked to the mutant child in Logan’s arm. Logan looked down to him to and then looked back to Stryker.
“I’ll take my chances with him.” He said as he walked away from Stryker. Soon they came upon an empty helipad. Snow scattered everywhere. As if there was a Helicopter that once sat there.
“Damn...It was here just awhile ago.” Logan said as he looked around. Suddenly there was a roar of large jet engines. Soon the X-Jet came over the horizon and wobbled a bit but soon landed horrible in front of them. The hatch opened and Bobby came out of the jet and beaconed them on to the jet.
Storm helped Nightcrawler get Professor Xavier into one of the chairs then went over to rogue.
“It’s ok sweetie. You can let go now.” She said as she helped Rogue let go of the wheel. Her hands tightly wrapped around the wheel.
“Ok...ok.” She said. Her voice shaky. Storm then took the seat and tried to turn the engines back on but the engines started then died.
“What’s going on storm?” Logan said in an annoyed tone.
“I don’t know. The engines...they won’t start.” Storm looked out the windshield and her face filled with fear. The rumble of roaring waters was rushing towards them and they weren’t able to move.
Jean grey looked out the windshield and her eyes filled with devotion. She limped over to the open hatch and walked down in front of the jet. Noticing that Jean was gone. Professor Xavier turned in his chair and whisper to himself. “Jean?”
Cyclops heard this and looked behind him. Not finding jean Cyclops looked around.
“Jean...Jean!” Cyclops ran towards the hatch but is started to close on its own.
“JEAN!” He yelled as he ran to the front of the jet. Jean was holding the hatch closed while she turned on the jet form the outside. The jet slowly started to rise as the massive wave got closer. Jean turned her head around to the wave and thrusted her hand forward. The wave stopped and moved around the jet as it was being lifted. As soon as the jet was high enough and could fly on its own. Jean lost focus and the wave over came her. Everyone looked in shock as the wave rushed under them. Taking their friend with it.
“Come on everyone. We need to get back to the school.” Storm said with sadness in her voice. She had just lost the biggest friend in her life. Everyone now had the look of sadness in their eyes.
While all this was happening a young mutant that was under Stryker’s control hid in the shadows of a high forest. Her neon blue eyes watched the same horror that the X-Men had just witnessed. Her eyes started to fill with tear. Almost as if she too had lost a close friend of her. She then started following the jet as her large black angelic wings flexed. Were she was going she didn’t know but anywhere is better than where she was.
June 2, 2007, 5:30pm
Everyone was watching T.V. looking for any signs of Magneto. Rogue was playing foosball with Bobby and someone else.
Kitty Pryde sat on the couch watching the news with Colossus.
“Have you guys found anything?” Rogue asked as she looked over to the T.V. after loosing for the third time in a row.
“Nothing yet. But there is something interesting here. They say there have been sightings of a mutant that has no real form. All they see is a large shadow walking around.” Kitty said as she turned around to look at Rogue. Bobby stopped playing right there and then.
“Do you think the Professor knows?” Bobby asked as he walked up to the back of the couch as well.
“Yes he knows. But he can’t get a good hold on the mutant. Its movements are non-stop.” Logan walked into the room. His hair up in its usual style.
“It might be because she has no real form.” Kitty said as she flipped the channel every few seconds.
“It’s not that. She has a real form. She doesn’t want to show herself in public. I don’t blame her. She would be arrested and given the new cure they have out there.” Storm said as she walked into to room as well. “But this mutant has finally stopped moving. She’s in a very familiar place. We need to go now before she moves again.”
So Rogue, Logan, Storm, and Nightcrawler all got on the jet. Nightcrawler sat by himself on one of the benches on the side of the jet. Rogue sat in the seat behind Logan’s. Storm started the jet as the basketball court above them separated so they would leave the school safely. The roar of the engines was relatively quiet but on the outside was almost deafening.
“So where is the mutant hiding?” Rogue asked as she messed with her leather elbow gloves.
“A very familiar place to me...and Kurt....” Kurt looked up and walked over to Storm as she finished her sentence. “...A church in Boston.”
“Vhat? You mean to say...”
“Yes I do Kurt. I don’t know why she has stopped there she just has.” Storm looked to him to see a look of concern on his face.
“I’m sure there is no connection to you. She probably just needed a place to stay and this seemed the most practical.” Storm looked out into the now darkening sky. Kurt sat back down and looked out the near by window. Nothing good can come from this, he thought to himself.
“So this shadow mutant...we’re sure she has a real form?” Logan asked as he lit a cigar.
“Yes, Charles said that she is scared and hurt. But still very dangerous. Her powers are shockingly powerful.” Storm slowed the jet as the approached the church.
“So no just running in and scaring her. Me and Logan will go in first. You two will follow. We only attack if we must. Got it.” She said as she looked to Logan.
“Why is it that you always look at me when you say that? I attack when I feel threatened. I just happen to feel threatened a lot.” He said as he puffed from his cigar.
“Well if you’re going to act like that...” She turned to Logan and looked at him sternly. “...why don’t you just stay in the jet?”
“And miss all the action? In your dreams.” Logan said as Storm landed the jet.
Mean while the mutant that they were here for hid behind a pillar as she heard the jet land. Her arms turning into shadow. Soon her whole body was covered in shadow. Her once blue eyes now red. Her long black hair was nothing more than shadow now.
Soon the doors opened as Storm and Logan walked in. Storm singled nightcrawler to teleport ahead. He did so with a loud *BAMF* and his yellow eyes looked around.
“I don’t see anything.” He said as he walked around. He walked up to the very familiar benches and placed one hand on them. “It’s been so long yet if feel like yesterday.”
“I know Kurt. It feels like yesterday to me too.” Storm walked up next to him and smiled. “Now come on. We’re here to bring her back to the school, so let us do what we came here to do.” She looked behind every pillar but didn’t find her.
“Please come out. We don’t wish to hurt you. Only to help you find a place to stay. A safe place to stay.” Rogue said as she helped with the search. Nightcrawler teleported up high to see if he could find her. He saw a shadow move and he tilted his head slightly.
“Storm...I think I found her. She is in the back room.” Kurt said pointing in the direction of the moving shadow.
The shadow now looked normal. Hearing the comforting words seemed to calm her down slightly. But she still had herself armed. A ball of reddish black mist formed in her right hand while her black angel wings flexed from the stress of not being used for so long. Her wings hide themselves immediately and the mist disappeared when someone turned the corner.
Storm saw her and smiled slightly.
“Come...we mean you now harm. We just want you to be safe. You can trust us. We’re just like you. Mutants that need a safe place to hide.” She said as she walked closer to the girl. She lowered her hand as she walked closer.
“Prove to me you are a mutant and I’ll go with you.” The girl asked as she stepped back a little. Nightcrawler teleported next to her and smiled slightly as he hung upside down.
“Is that enough proof for you?” Storm asked as she looked at her with a stern look. Why must we always prove ourselves? It’s not like we want them dead or anything Storm thought as the girl looked at her. Her hands lowered and her eyes calm once again.
“Come on we don’t have all day thank you.” Logan whined as he looked at the sky. “It’s probably close to 9:00 now. I would like to sleep tonight.”
“Ok I’ll go. As long as I can tell you something when we get on the jet.” She said as her neon blue eyes filled with fear.
“Of course.” Storm walked out of the church and the jet hatch lowered as she approached it. The engines started as the hatched closed behind the girl. She sat on the same bench that Kurt did.
“So what did you want to tell us kid?” Logan asked as he sat in his chair and turned around to look at her.
“Let us know your name first. Please. I’m Storm. This is Logan. The girl over there is Rogue and that there is Kurt.” Kurt smiled and went back to his thoughts.
“I’m Sarah Lillian Evans.” She said as her voice seemed to be filled with fear. “I’ve seen you all once before...at Alkili Lake. Flying away in the very jet we are sitting in now. You flooded the place I’m guessing.” She asked
“Yes, why do you ask?” Logan said as he remembered the day. The loss of Jean still filled him with...sadness...rage.
“Well Stryker died in the massive flooding but I’ve seen him walking around the streets of New York. He’s looking for the mutants he used to control. The weapons he used to have.” She said as her voice shook with every word she said.
Logan growled lowly at the sound of his name. But knowing that he had survived the flood filled him with more rage. Kurt was now filled with fear. He was one of those weapons.
“I was used as a weapon. I fended you guys off for a bit but then the serum wore off and I ran. You might not of recognized me but there I was just shadow. I can control that now.” She said as she messed with the burn mark on the back of her neck.
“So he is veally is back. Vanting all of us back. Vanting his power back?” Kurt asked as he looked to her.
“You were there too?”
“Three out of five people here were. Me, Kurt, and now you.” Logan said as he extended his claws.
“I’m sorry to hear that. But yes he is looking for us and I’m scared he might get me back. He used so much serum that I can’t control myself sometimes.” She said as a ball of shadow filled her hand. She messed with is as Storm flew the jet.
The jet landed in the hanger. Everyone was quiet as they left the jet. When Sarah saw what the school actually looked like she was surprised. It looked more like a large mansion then anything. With a homey feeling.
“Let us go find you a room. Then we will evaluate your powers, in the danger room.” Storm told her as she walked down a large hall way. “Your room is here, next to Kurt and Kitty.” Sarah entered the room. It was large and housed a queen sized bed. Fully furnished with everything she needed. Except her clothing. A large bay window sat next to her bed as the moon shined in upon her tan face.
“It’s so beautiful. How can I thank you?”
“You’ve already thanked us by joining us.” Storm said as she left her to get used to things. She pulled all of her hair to one side and looked outside the window. She heard a loud *BAMF* behind her and smiled.
“Nice of you to come help me Kurt.” She said as she kept staring outside her window.
“How did you know it vas me?” He asked as he teleported in front of her with a confused look on his face.
“Once I hear someone’s ability and their name. I pretty much don’t forget.” She said as she headed towards the door. “So shall I get evaluated?”
“This vay then.” He said as he teleported out of the room and opened her door. She was nervous about this evaluation. She didn’t tell them everything on the jet. She didn’t mention the demon that lived inside her. The horrible dark side of her personality. Her wings still hidden she scratched her back. Not using them in so long had irritated them horribly. Soon they entered a hall way that looked totally different from the rest of the mansion. It looked kind of like a lab of some sort. Soon a large door opened.
“Don’t vorry. Ve von’t leave you. You just won’t be able to see us.” He said as the door closed behind her and Kurt teleported into a room just off the danger room.
“She’s ready. Let’s start with level 3. I’m sure she capable of working with that.” Logan turned a dial until a large red three popped up. Everyone watched with tense bodies as the room around the new recruit changed into a simple evening park. The sky cloudless and with a slight breeze. The moon full and white. Sarah looked around in amazement as her surroundings changed.
“Ok kid. This is easy. There will be a few moving targets that you have to destroy. You do that you move up a level. There are 10 levels. If you make it to level 10. Well...we’ll see.” Logan’s voice echoed around her as a few familiar faces appeared in front of her. The military, in their green camo suits and helmets. They seemed harmless.
“You’ve got to be kidding me, right?” She said as she cracked her knuckles. But then they started shooting at her.
“Oh...a challenge.” She hid behind a tree and closed her eyes. Then opened them again and they were a deep red. Her hands with a reddish-black mist swirling around them. Her red streaks glowed brightly as a smile curved slowly on her mouth.
“She’s good. Very calm and relaxed.” Storm said as she watched from above.
Sarah turned from behind the tree and thrusted both arms forward. Two balls of reddish black mist went forward and straight into the military’s chest. The landscape disappeared and changed back into the large girded room that was there before.
“Nice. Now let’s see what you do against on of the brotherhood.” Logan said from above. He turned the dial to 4.
“The who now?”
“The brotherhood is a group of mutants that are against what we do. They think that we should go against humans and make this a human free world. We don’t want that.” Storm said as her voice also echoed around Sarah. Soon a very familiar person to everyone appeared in front of Sarah...Pyro.
“Let’s see what you’ve got!” She yelled as she once again formed the chaos attack as she called it.
“Oh you will.” Pyro said as he formed a ball of fire in his hand.
“Oh they talk back. I like that a lot.” She went forward and her hands were inches away from her face when she felt a burning sensation on her stomach.
“Ok...you’re smarter than you look. I’ll have to use strategy against this one.” She hid herself in the shadows. Her body soon turned into pure shadow. Her eyes still red.
“Alright...where’d you go?” Pyro said as he looked all around him. He didn’t see anything. But soon from above, a reddish-black ball hit him on the top of the head forcing him into the ground.
“Good one kid. Nice wings.” Logan laughed slightly as he watched Pyro hit the ground with a thud. The room again went to its normal form.
Sarah was breathing hard now. Sweat was going down the side of her head as she looked up.
“That all you got?” She said as she laughed slightly. Evilly almost.
“One more level and that’ll be it for today. You can start combat training tomorrow.” Logan again turned the dial to 5.
“Alright. Bring it on.” She said as the surroundings changed in to Alkili Lake. Sarah froze. Her eyes widened as a woman with blue skin approached her.
“Who the HELL is this?” She said as she flexed her wings. The slightly dragged against the ground as she moved.
“This is a mutant named Mystique. She is a shapeshifter. She can change into any human form. So watch what you’re doing here.” Logan’s voiced said as it faded away.
“Alright. This might be a little tricky.” Sarah was soon holding two balls of shadow in her hands. Soon Mystique changed in to Logan and smiled. Claws extended from in between her knuckles. “So...that’s his power. Stryker’s experiment. The famous wolverine.” Mystique ran forward and tried her hardest to plunge her claws into Sarah’s stomach, but Sarah took flight to quickly. So Mystique changed into someone she didn’t recognize. A girl...with red hair. Deep blue eyes.
“Wait. I know who you are...you’re that woman...that got swept away down at Alkili Lake.” Sarah backed away. Already seeing what the real woman can do. She didn’t want to mess with this on. But she was pulled down to the ground. Then Mystique turned into one she dreaded the most. William Stryker.
“No...No, get away from me!” She yelled as Stryker started whispering something in her ear. Her pupils disappeared and all that was left was the neon blue of her eyes.
“Stop the simulation! Stop it NOW!” Logan said as he entered the room. Kurt not too far behind. Sarah just stared at the two. Then she started mumbling something. “Kill all the mutants...kill every single one of them.” It grew louder until she yelled it one last time then attacked the two.
“Hey kid what are you doing?!” Logan jumped out of the way hitting a snow covered tree. “Wait...the hologram. It’s not gone?” Logan said confused as he felt the cracked bone healing.
“I’m going to kill you. Every single one of you pathetic mutants!” She yelled as she charged Logan again. This time she was pined to the ground. “Get off of me you!”
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” Logan picked her up and swung her arms behind her back.
“Don’t you remember...she said that Stryker used so much serum that she can’t control verself sometimes. And seeing Stryker didn’t velp much.” Kurt said as he looked into her hollow eyes. “The hologram Stryker must have told ver to kill us. She thought it vas the real Stryker coming to get ver.” Logan just stared at Kurt.
“Kurt I don’t think that was a hologram. I think Stryker’s found us. And he’s doing his best to get us, especially her back.” Logan held on to her arms as tight as he could without hurting her.
“Let go of me! Let go of me now!” Sarah yelled as the Lake started to disappear and the danger room looked normal again. Sarah’s pupils returned and she fell to the ground. Logan caught her half was and sighed.
“Finally...she come back to us. Xavier...we need to beef up security around here.” Logan said as Xavier wheeled into the room.
“Of course. I’ll have someone watching her room every night now.” Xavier looked at the girl and closed his eyes. “We have another one.”
“Another vhat professor?” Kurt asked.
“Another class five mutant.” Xavier said. His voice shaking.
“You’re kidding me, right? How are we suppose to control a class five mutant. She can barely control herself already.” Logan as he picked her up and left the danger room. Xavier followed behind Logan. Storm meet them outside the danger room.
“What was wrong with her Charles?” Storm looked at her unconscious body. She moved a strand of hair out her face and noticed that her face was extremely pale.
“She’s a class five Strom. The serum has made her DNA unstable and it’s hard for her to control herself. Just like we saw now.” Xavier wheeled over to a large door with a metal X on it. “I’m going to see if I can find Stryker. If we find him, we can get all of our suffering done and over with.”
“Alright, I’ll take her to her room and have Kitty watch her for awhile. I’ll look around if I can find someone to watch her tonight.” Logan walked down the hall way and out a door into the more house looking part of the mansion. Soon he came upon her room and he entered. He put her on her bed and sighed. Then knocked on a random wall panel and it opened to a girl next door.
“What ya need Logan?” She asked.
“Kitty, I need you to watch Sarah for awhile. She’s new and she just been throw a lot.” Logan said as he walked out of Sarah’s door.
“I can do that.” Kitty then went back into her room but left the wall panel open so all noise made in Sarah’s room could be heard by Kitty.
“God...I need to rest for awhile.” Logan went to the kitchen to find bobby over a large tub of ice cream.
“You ok Logan? You seem a little tense.” Bobby said as he finished what he could eat.
“The new one...she’s a class five...like Jean was. But this one seems to be able to control her powers. She just can’t control herself. She was a weapon of Stryker’s as well. So much serum in her body that her DNA is screwed up.” Logan said as he pulled out a beer and popped the top off.
“I here that Stryker’s back too. Looking for all the mutants he used.” Bobby put the tub back in the freezer making sure that the label still said “Bobby aka Iceman” on it.
“Ya...he’s back and looking for us. Mostly the girl though. I don’t know why though.”
“May be because she doesn’t have immunity to the serum yet. So she is the most useful. I don’t know, it’s just a guess.” Bobby walked out of the room as another walked in. Her name was Sable and was pretty quiet most of the time. Her clothing was all black. Black long sleeved T-shirt layered with a short sleeved T-shirt, black jeans, black hoody with the hood up, black gloves, black sunglasses, and black boots.
“Well if it isn’t Sable Messenger. It’s about time you left your room.” Logan laughed as he sat down.
“You keep laughing. You have to go to sleep some time. And call me Eclipse, please.” She glared at him as she grabbed a can of Coca-Cola. “I ain’t in the mood right now.”
“Fine...go be your old moody self. Just stay away from room #13 ok Eclipse. We have a new recruit. She a little skittish around new people.”
“Fine what ever. Why would I want to mess with anyone that would just want to be my friend?” She said in an annoyed tone. But with this being Sable she went to the room. She entered and saw that the newcomer was awake. It was dark enough in the room so she took her sunglasses off and put her hood down.
“Ok...this is my kind of room. Why is it so dark in here anyway?” She asked as she looked around. Sarah jerked around and jumped from her bed.
“Don’t worry I’m not going to hurt you. I just wanted to see who the newcomer was. I’m guessing that’s you?” Sable said as she sat on the bed.
“Ya...why do you care?” Sarah sat back down. Messing with a ball of chaos.
“I don’t...that’s the whole point isn’t it.” She said sarcastically.
“I guess your right. So what’s your power?” Sarah asked as she turned around.
“Well I can create what I call blackouts. Sucks all light away from a room or place. I can do that to the sun if I need to. Invisibility which isn’t immediate unfortunately. And night-vision. Very useful when you create blackouts.” She said as her violet purple eyes glowed in the unnatural darkness around them. “How about you?”
“Controller of shadows and Chaos, and black wings. Nothing fancying. But I can also control shadow creatures. And make my body pure shadow.” She said as she looked out the window. Then closed the curtains again. Her eyes were a deep red color. Not out of rage but just because to use her power that’s what happened.
“Nice...so what creatures do you control?” She said as she stood and started wondering where the wings were.[/pre]]

“Any animal really. One I use the most is Shadow. A wolf that has three tails and his ears are close to your middle stomach area. Red eyes that glow in any kind of light. But glow more brilliantly in darkness.” She said as she described on of the closest friends she had.
“So...you said you have wings...where are they?” She said finishing her coke-cola.
“I can hide them at will. But if you look closely they’re there. Especially now.” She said as she flexed them. She wanted to fly so badly but she hadn’t gotten over the shock of what had happened in the danger room. Sable turned the night-vision on and soon the wings were the biggest thing in the room.
“Very nice...so how high can go. I mean how many miles above sea level can you reach?” She asked as she watched the girl carefully.
“I don’t really know. I’ve never really tried to figure it out...so what’s your name?”
“I’m Sable Messenger...or Eclipse.” She said as she held out her hand
“Sarah Lillian Evans...or Chaos.” She shook her hand and smiled. I sense a new friendship here. A good one at that Sarah thought as she walked over to the window. “Oh knowing you, ya might want to put your hood up and your sunglasses back on. I can’t really see anymore.” Sable did so and prepared herself for the horrid shock of the light. But when the curtains opened there was no shock. It was still pretty dim in the room.
“Why is it so dark in this room!?” She said as she went up to the curtain. A very risky thing to do, but she didn’t burn...she didn’t smoke...nothing happened.
“My powers make my surrounding naturally dark. That way it’s easier for me to concentrate.” She said as she walked up to the wall panel and knocked on it.
“Hey...Kitty...I’m going to be right back ok. Will you have the music done soon?” She asked as she entered Kitty’s room.
“Yep...just a few more songs and your iPod will be filled with the best rock music around.” Kitty smiled as she went back to her computer.
“You seem to make friends fast.” Sable said as she walked into the light filled room. She winced but her eyes adjusted as her sunglasses filtered out the sunlight.
“Cool. So what do you do around here for fun?” Sarah went to Sable’s side and smiled.
“I hope you don’t smile all the time. It scares me." She said as she shook her body as if a chill went up her spine.
“I’m sorry but that’s just me. I smile a lot.” Sarah said as she walked out of her room. Her eyes trying to adjust to the light of the hall way.
“Well if you do that all the time. I’ll smack you one of these days.” Sable walked behind her and sighed and walked back into the kitchen.
“Eclipse I thought I told you not to go in that room!” Logan yelled as he stood. Finishing his beer.
“I’m sorry. But her room...it’s so dark. It’s my kind of room.” Sable said with a evil smile on her face.
“It’s ok Logan. I’m ok. I was awake when she entered. I’ve been awake for close to an hour now.” She went to the frige and went to grab a beer. But Logan closed the door before she could. Her arm turned into shadow so there would be no pain.
“HEY! What’d you do that for?” She said as she pulled her arm out of the door.
“The beer is for the adults. Mainly me.” He said as he scowled at her.
“Come on...man I hate this place already. How am I suppose to concentrate when I can’t have my alcohol?!” She yelled as she walked out of the kitchen.
“As soon as you turn 21 I’ll think about it.” Logan said as he walked the separate way.
“Right...knowing you I won’t touch it till your dead and that might take awhile won’t it...Wolverine?” She said as she raised an eye brow and smirked.
“How’d you know that’s my name?” He said as he stopped in his tracks.
“When in the danger room Mystique turned into you and claws came out of her knuckles. Who else can do that?” She said as she walked out to the front room. Bobby, Rogue, and Kitty were all in there talking or doing something. Kitty looked up and ran to her and held out her iPod.
“Thanks Kitty. I’m really grateful.” Sarah said as she walked over to the T.V. and then bobby walked over to her.
“So...you’re the new girl. I’m Bobby or Iceman. You can guess what I do thanks to the name. So what can you do?” He asked as he sat down next to her.
“As I explained before I control shadow and chaos, I control shadow creatures, and I have black wings. Nothing really fancy.” She sighed as everyone started to filter in.
“So I here your from Alkili Lake? What’s it like there?” Kitty asked as she sat down on the floor in front of her.
“I’d rather not talk about that. Please.” She said as she started thinking of yesterday.
“Oh...it’s ok. I understand perfectly.” Kitty seemed very embarrassed by her question.
“Can we see one of the creatures? Come on please.” Rogue begged as she looked at Sarah.
“Well all of those that hate dark places. Even some what dark places need to leave now.” Sarah warned all that sat in the living room.
“Ok let me focus my energy and Shadow will be here in a few minutes.” She said as her eyes closed. The room grew very dim as the light was being blocked by the shadows swirling around. Everyone started whispering as she opened her eyes and they glowed the deep blood red. A large shadow figure started to form in front of them and soon a wolf type body started to form. The ears pointed and alert the eyes as deep of a red as Sarah’s. Three tails swished around and it stood close to 3.5 ft tall.
“There you go everyone. Shadow...the pure essence of shadow with a personality. But be careful...he’s kind of protective. But as soon as he get’s to know you he’ll love ya.” She said as the room stayed dim and her eyes went back to normal. Shadow growled slightly as he curled up at her feet and watched everyone intently.
“Hey, boy these are my friends. Say hello to them.” She said patting his head. He let out a low howl as he closed his brilliant eyes. He lifted he head and curved his mouth and a wonderful sound echoed around them. Everyone’s eyes widened as he stopped.
“He’s amazing!”
“What other animals can you make?!”
“Can he stay here with us?!” Everyone asked at the same time. Sarah never before felt so wanted before. She felt loved for the very first time.
“He says thank you, I can make every single animal in the animal kingdom and yes he can stay here with you guys awhile. He said that he wouldn’t mind running around outside actually.” She answered all of the questions that she understood and walked up to the French doors leading to the side yard.
“Come on shadow.” He waged his tails as he sprinted outside and howled joyfully. Everyone followed behind her as she formed balls of shadow for everyone so the could play fetch with him.
“You seem to be getting a lot of attention now that you’re getting used to thing.” Storm walked out to the patio and sat next to Sarah.
“Ya, I really like it here. I feel wanted.” She said as she sat in the sun.
“Well I’m happy to hear that. Are you sure you feel ok though. After yesterday...I’m shocked your up and moving so much.” Storm said as she sat next to her watching the children running around. Playing with the shadow creature.
“I feel fine. Really, I just have to think for a good hour or so and I’m fine.” Sarah then felt a strange weight on the back of her chair.
“Hello Kurt. Where have you been?” Storm asked as she looked up to the back of Sarah’s chair.
“Around, Vhy?” He asked as he stepped down from Sarah’s chair.
“I was just wondering.” Storm got up and left the two alone. Shadow walked up to Kurt and licked him on the hand. He jumped at the felling of his tongue on his hand.
“It’s ok...this is shadow. One of few friends I had before this place.” Sarah said as she laughed as Kurt looked at the creature strangely.
“So...this creature is your friend. Very beautiful.” He said as he sat down the end of the patio chair. “So vhere did you get that rosary around your neck?”
“Oh...this...someone close to me gave to me. He was at the lab but Stryker gave him the serum...but he never returned. Most likely the serum wore off before he could return to the lab.” Sarah said as she grabbed the rosary. She knew who gave it to her. And he was sitting right in front of her.
